How to Install macOS Ventura on VMWare on Windows PC?

With the WWDC 2022, Apple announced several new products and software. Among them, the M2 MacBook Air and MacBook Pro, alongside the new operating system called MacOS Ventura are introduced. Mccoys Ventura has several cooler new features which include the Stage Manager, updates to the Spotlight, Safari updates, Live Text, and more. Hungry tech users are seeking ways to test this new operating system. Among them is the Virtual environment. Applications like VMware, Parallel Desktop and Virtualbox can fulfill the testing purpose. VMWare is the world’s leading virtualization software that you can use to test any operating system on it. So, why not Install macOS Ventura on VMWare on Windows PC.

Prerequisites:

  • A powerful Windows computer.
  • Minimum system requirements are at least 8 GB RAM and 80 GB of storage.
  • VMWare workstation player or VMWare workstation pro.
  • Unlocker to activate the Apple guest operating system.
  • Installer ISO of MaOS Ventura.

Steps to Install macOS Ventura on VMWare on Windows 11

  1. Install the virtualization software called VMWare Workstation Player or Pro
  2. Unlock Apple Guest OS in the VMWare by Installing the Unlocker
  3. Create a Virtual Machine for macOS Ventura on VMWare
  4. Configure the Settings of the Virtual machine.
  5. Configure the partition of the virtual hard drive.
  6. Install macOS Ventura on VMWare on Windows PC

Step 1. Install VMWare Workstation Pro/Player

macOS 13 also known as macOS Ventura has been introduced to the market recently. Up on that VMWare has released a new version of the VMWare workstation pro/player that can support MacOS 13. It is the 16.2x version.

So get TV either of this virtualization software and then install it on your computer with the default options. If you have already available or installed it on our computer skip it and move to the next section.

Step 2. Install Apple Guest OS on VMWare

VMWare is a giant company, but they have a virtualization software called VMWare workstation pro. It is powerful virtual virtualization software that you can use to install any guest operating system. Windows, Linux, Chrome OS, and certainly MacOS are one of them. But just like the other operating systems, you can’t directly install the MacOS on VMWare. A good example is that the apple guest operating system is not installed by default on the VMWare, for this you have to download the unlocker from GitHub and install it and then you will get the option.

Once you got the file extract it, then right-click on the win-install.cmd, and run it as Administrator.

Step 3. Create Virtual Machine for macOS Ventaru

1. Launch VMWare.

2. Click on the click “Create a new virtual machine“.

3. Choose the default option also known as “typical (Recommended)

4. For the next window choose “I will install the operating system later“.

5. Choose Mac OS X as a guest operating system, after that you have to choose the version, in our case choose macOS 13.

6. Go ahead and name the virtual machine that you’re creating, then you can click on browse and save it to a place you want.

7. Enter the amount of storage that you need for the virtual machine.

8. Once you are on the “ready to create virtual machine” window click on customize hardware.

Customizing Hardware:

If your PC has more ram than 8 GB, increase it as much as you want.

Increase the processor from 1 to 2 or 4.

Go to “New CD/DVD (SATA)“> check the box of use ISO image file> click on browse and locate the downloaded MacOS Ventura ISO image.

Close the window and apply the changes that you implemented a moment ago.

Once again you will be on the ready to “ready to create virtual machine” where you have to simply click finish.

9. One last thing, open the location where you saved the virtual machine. Right-click on a file with the extension of VMX and open it with a notepad. Once it is opened, Scroll down to the end and insert the below code.

Step 4. Install macOS Ventaru on VMWare

1. If you exited the VMWare workstation earlier, launch it once again and this time click “Power on this virtual machine“. You must have some patience until the MacOS from the ISO boots up.

2. Choose a language that you are comfortable with in my case English is fine.

3. Click on the disk utility.

4. On the left side select the Virtual hard drive that you created while creating the Virtual Machine. Then at the top-level menu, click on Erase and partition HDD with your own settings.

In my case, I will name the drive as Ventura, Set its format as APFS and the Scheme will be GUID Partition Map.

The moment the drive is partitioned, close the disk utility and you will be back on the recovery page.

5. On the Recovery page, click on the “Install macOS 13 Beta“> then click continue.

6. Agree with the Terms and conditions.

7. Select the partitioned hard drive, and click continue to Install macOS 13 Ventura.

8. Following the steps until now, your MacOS is going to restart several times so you must have patience. Once it is done you will be on the basic configuration macOS Ventura.

  • Upon the final restart of the PC, you have to choose your language, keyboard layout, and country.
  • In the accessibility window, click Not now and move on.
  • Configure the settings regarding the Internet and go on.
  • Agree with that and privacy.
  • On the migration page, click not now.
  • Agree with terms and conditions.
  • Create a computer account.
  • Next, click continue.
  • Configure Screen Time and Siri.
  • Choose a theme, Dark Mode, Light Mode, or Auto.

Step 5. Take a Snapshot

Snapshot is really helpful whenever you run into a problem within the virtual machine. You can say it is sort of like recovery. There is a reason why I am recommending taking a snapshot right after you install the OS. Do not even shut down the OS Just go to the VM tab> click on the Snapshot> Choose “Take Snapshot“> and Name the Snapshot. The reason is that the beta version is not stable, you could face an unknown error right after you installed it. Suppose on the macOS Monterey, Once the installed OS in the Virtual machine is powered off, you couldn’t log in.

Step 6. Install VMware Tools

You have to install the VMWare tools to enable full-screen mode on the virtual machine. Once the VMWare tools are installed you can also enable the drag and drop between the Windows and MacOS too. To install VMware Tools, go to the VM menu> click on the install VMware Tools.
