How to Configure Bootloader and Post Installation of macOS Catalina?

Creating a bootable USB for the macOS 10.15 Catalina is not hard, infect it is bootloader and Post installation which is confusing.

According to Apple the hardware requirements for macOS 10.15 Catalina is at least 4 GB of RAM and 12.5 GB of storage. they mentioned, as long as your computer can run the Mac OS X Mavericks, it can run macOS 10.15 Catalina.

In my words, as long as your computer has 2 GB of Graphics card, 6 GB of RAM, and 4th generation of computers, It can run macOS. So, it is up to you to dual boot or Install on PC or even a laptop.

Step 1. Download Required Files

  • Download macOS Catalina Bootloader and Post Installation Files.

After downloading the above files, extract them on your desktop.

Step 2. Working with Clover Configurator

Find there the clover configurator and launch it. On the left side select Mount EFI, now a new partition will appear on your desktop.

Copy the bootloader and Paste it on the EFI partition you just mounted.

Step 3. Configure Post Installation

Here we need to configure the drivers, [Apple calls them Kext]. To configure them, open the Kext Utility from the Post Installation. Easily drag all the kext one by one in the Kext utility and it will install.

  1. After install, it does not explain what operating system you need to use to load Clover or to install the post install files, or to mount the EFI. For that matter, this tutorial doesn’t even cover setting up the EFI partition for the Mac OS. It skips right from ‘completing install’ (which you won’t be able to do because this tutorial doesn’t tell you how to do a bootable disk), to setting up the bootloader.

I’m mostly irked by the fact though that the tutorial never explains actually setting up Clover, it just tells you to do it. From the way the tutorial reads, you’ll set up Mac OSX, and pray you can access the internet or files downloaded to Windows, because you won’t have any way to set up clover or the post install files any other way. You’ll be stuck in Mac OS hoping that your next reboot will take you to Windows.

    • Hi,
For creating bootable USB, you have to create a macOS installer bootable USB inside mac. Obviously the clover will be configured inside mac, it won’t be configured inside windows. According to me this article seems complete. One more thing, you won’t be able to use the Wifi inside macOS, for that you have to buy a wifi adapter.
